This article analyzes parts of a high-school philosophy textbook dedicated to political philosophy and contemporary ethics. It is shown that the authors apply mechanisms of ideological selection, and by using different rhetorical devices give a privileged place to conservatism, while at the same time denigrating competing ideologies such as liberalism and socialism and presenting them in an unfavorable light. Special attention is payed to the way that the authors mobilize negative emotions tied to the traumatic experience of NATO bombing of The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for the purpose of building and strengthening the conservative ideological hegemony.
